The Embroidery Software Protection Coalition (ESPC), in an effort to stem pattern piracy, issues demands for restitution from unsuspecting granny embroiderers who have purchased and sold rights protected designs at auction. The grannies retaliate on sewing boards with unkind words that the ESPC describes in legal documents as ” “terrorist activities” and accuses them of posting slanderous statements “that marched across the Internet bulletin boards and chat groups similar to Hitler’s march across Europe.”

eBay’s Express advertising campaign launches with 20+ iterations of a message that only serves to further muddy the brand…auctions, stores, Buy It Now, Pro Stores,Half.com and now Express…there appears to be no end to this “IT”
eBay Express advertising campaign launches with multiple ad presentations…of course, sellers are confused but imagine the buyers; this iteration of eBay, Express, is different from stores, is different from auctions, is different from BIN and is not to be confused with ProStores…all of this confusion further muddies the brand, making “it” about who knows what. Of all the free on-line video hosts, good ‘ol Google might just be the one to use..for some very practical marketing reasons. Why pay for an auction video host for your auctions? Why, indeed. By allowing seminar companies to run about the country qualified as eBay Developers, the site is doing immeasurable harm to the brand. Thousands of dollars later, wannabe sellers are left fleeced and feeling mislead by the association of the eBay name with empty promises and hard-sell tactics.
Apart from site related fraud issues, eBay allows groups of get-rich-quick nabobs to scour the country offering seminars that are doing immeasurable harm to the brand as well as bilking those that sign up out of thousands of dollars. Anti-spyware programs are an essential defense for protecting the security of your business…how about a site that objectively rates them all?
