Great show as always. Interesting about Overstock’s approach to message boards. I applaud their effort as well but I would argue that eBay’s free-for-all approach is a business strategy that makes sense in that it gives sellers an opportunity to vent in a contained environment. Better that than to take that anger to blogs, the press, and other areas that eBay can’t manage or control. To paraphrase something that President Johnson once said to his aides… “If you want to urinate, do it inside my tent, not outside”.

I don’t think I will ever get it!? Why does eBay keep increasing their fees? It feels like they are trying to catch up with some kind of cost they are incurring? Or…I don’t know.

I appreciate that eBay is a company and relies of profits to grow and expand but it does hurt many sellers when eBay hikes their seller fees and then reports increased profits.
Are those profits due to the rise in ebay seller fees or is it because the company is growing?
I would like to know just how much of the fee increase is accountable for the rise in profits.
Maybe someone will know or at least have a good idea and post something for the rest of us to read.
